logon welcomes The German School Shanghai children to offices in celebration of International Children’s Day
June 8th, 2010 Shanghai, China -To mark International Children’s Day, celebrated worldwide on June 1, the German based logon design firm has organized an event on June 3 to welcome 23 children of The German School Shanghai. During the 3 hour field trip, children ages 11-16 were given a tour of the logon offices at the IIInShanghai Creative Park on Dingxi Road, and with it, the unique chance to become architects for a morning. The children, separated into competing design firm teams, were invited to make junior proposals to creatively upgrade their own school. Though the competition was designed especially for the school event, the children were presented with real everyday considerations by logon in regards to end-user, economic and sustainability needs. To simulate the standard competition process for architectural design, the winning presentation was awarded with a prize.
Given the logon German connection and its strong convictions about actively investing into the future, managing partners Frank Krueger and Wang Fang jumped at the opportunity to organize an educational trip for the German School children. “We see it as our duty not only to introduce the next generation to an exciting profession of architecture design, but to make them aware of environmental and economic challenges they will most certainly face in their lifetime” says Wang Fang.
After the challenging task of becoming architects for a morning, the children went on to visit the German Energy Pavilion at the The German Centre Shanghai located in the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park.
