Urban design has the remarkable power of being able to take a dormant cluster of buildings, a dormant neighborhood or dormant city and revive its social interactions and economy. Urban design gives small and large areas an identity through preservation of cultural heritage, management of public space and through strategic place-making.

Thanks to the incredibly unique set-up of a mid-size office with national and international architects, urban designers, landscapers and the logon lab, we’re equipped at logon to look at both the aesthetics and the interconnectivity of each element of the public space. Together, we analyze each element of the built fabric and landscaped public environment to give meaning and draw communities together. We did just this with the 800SHOW creative park by integrating mixed uses in three fluid zones complemented by communal areas, facilitating the movement and interaction of people (and nature). Through an analysis from an urban design perspective, we were able to breathe unique but interconnected character into each of the 15 buildings of the park. By emphasizing luminosity, grandeur and clear branding of the factory hall, a brand new place was made, giving the downtown area new identity and curiosity.

Our urban design:
• evaluates / reevaluates the urban fabric to breathe new life into an urban area
• focuses on strategic place-making and interconnectivity of urban elements to draw communities to each other
• improves the standard of living by achieving a balance between the built and the planned
