Fuxing road shopping mall and office, shanghai
The client SOHO China design requirements included interior retail design and facade renovation for this mixed-use project. The project is located at the centre of downtown shanghai, near Xintiandi. It serves the functions of retail and office, including a retail centre, an office tower, and a six-level retail and office building. The retail centre in the east is in a traditional Long Tang style with three- levels aboveground and a five-level basement including two levels of retail directly connected to subways lines 10 and 13. Visitors are guided by a variety of visual connections and attractive spaces to provide an outstanding interior space experience, at the same time increasing the value of sunken retail space. The renovation of the 28 level office tower façade targets a cleaner, more streamlined Art Deco look with emphasis on vertical geometry achieving an elegant facade design. Regarding the interior design of office building public spaces, efforts are made to create a premium class brand image for all tenants. Landscape features were also integrated into the site such as pocket parks, exclusive balconies and a green island promenade; each enhances the overall environment and quality of the site.
