800SHOW creative park
800SHOW is a 22,000 sq.m creative park, formerly Shanghai People’s Electrical Machine Plant right in the heart of Jing’an District, Shanghai. Divided in three zones for culture, office and leisure purposes, 800SHOW encompasses 15 buildings built over the span of 50 years, with the architectural design principle of “design the old as the old” and “careful renovation”, the park was finally become an ideal creative space with sustainable business model. The main 120 meter long event hall becomes the brand for 800SHOW. By demolishing the first column, a public plaza was then open to Changde Road, as a symbol of the cultural architecture in Jing’an District. North is the leisure plaza, which offers visitors an opportunity to pause with galleries and dining venues. The complex at the south is creative office area, proudly boasting high beams, creating extraordinary space.
800SHOW was the winner of the MIPIM Asia 2010 Special Jury Award selected from 80 nominees in ten countries across Asia.
It was also the location of the Shanghai International Creative Week (SICIW) in 2009. The site is also one of the official venues of the Shanghai Expo 2010 in for the Dutch Culture Centre (DCC). Read more about 800SHOW on our events and media page.
